Prince Harry once disclosed what Kate Middleton texted Meghan Markle during their well-known ‘argument.’
The Duke of Sussex shared details about the tension surrounding his and Meghan’s 2018 wedding day, addressing the controversy in his explosive memoir Spare, released in 2023. In the book, he directly responded to tabloid claims that Meghan had made Kate cry in the lead-up to the ceremony.
However, during her widely discussed interview with Oprah, Meghan asserted that the situation had unfolded the other way around. She added: “I don’t think it’s fair to her to get into the details, because she apologized. And I’ve forgiven her.”
Unlike Meghan, Harry had no hesitation in revealing more.
According to his account, the disagreement between his future wife and sister-in-law stemmed from a dispute over bridesmaid dresses, particularly the one for Kate’s daughter, Princess Charlotte.

Kate and William’s daughter, Charlotte, was set to play a role in their big day, but according to Harry, there was tension over the fit of her dress.
He recounted that just four days before the wedding, Kate reached out to Meghan, insisting that the ‘French Couture’ dresses needed to be redone.
Harry wrote that Kate became frustrated when Meghan didn’t respond to her immediately.
“Meg didn’t reply to Kate straight away,” says Harry. “Yes, she had endless wedding-related texts, but mostly she was dealing with the chaos surrounding her father. So the next morning she texted Kate that our tailor was standing by.”
“This wasn’t sufficient,” he adds.
