‘Truth’ behind claims Prince William ‘threatened to remove Beatrice and Eugenie’s titles’ amid Andrew scandal

Part 1 of 2

Recent reports suggested that Prince William issued a stern warning to Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie in an attempt to have their father, Prince Andrew, removed from the Royal Lodge. However, palace sources are now disputing that claim.

The rumors surfaced shortly after Prince Andrew, 65, agreed to stop using his royal title. The decision followed renewed scrutiny over his ties to the late Jeffrey Epstein and the release of his accuser Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous memoir, in which she accused the Duke of York of sexual assault—allegations Andrew has always strongly denied.

Journalist Emily Maitlis, who famously interviewed Andrew during his 2019 Newsnight appearance, revisited the topic on The News Agents podcast, adding fuel to the ongoing controversy surrounding the royal.

William’s Alleged Warning

According to Maitlis, there were claims that Prince William met with Beatrice and Eugenie to pressure them into convincing their father to vacate the Royal Lodge, where Andrew and Sarah Ferguson have lived—separately but under the same roof—since the early 2000s.

“There was a question over whether there had been, earlier in the day, a meeting between Prince William and the princesses, Beatrice and Eugenie, saying you guys have to get your dad to move out of Royal Lodge, otherwise we will start re-examining the state of your own titles,” Maitlis claimed.

She added that “there was a bit of pressure, we understand, being put on the princesses to say this is going to happen.” Maitlis further suggested that King Charles planned to visit Royal Lodge himself to “read the riot act” to his brother.

Palace Sources Deny the Meeting

Despite these reports, The Sun cited a palace insider who refuted the story, stating that no such meeting between William, Beatrice, and Eugenie took place. The publication also clarified that the Prince of Wales does not possess the authority to revoke royal titles—a move that could only occur through an Act of Parliament.
