Princess Kate sends message of resilience in Princess Diana’s tiara as she arrives at Windsor Castle

Part 1 of 2

Princess Kate made a dazzling comeback to the royal spotlight this evening as she stepped out for a state banquet at Windsor Castle — her first public appearance in a tiara and formal gown since 2023.

Wearing the iconic Lover’s Knot Tiara once favored by Princess Diana and a deep red silk creponne gown by Sarah Burton for Givenchy, the Princess of Wales embraced her return to royal grandeur with elegance.

A Symbolic and Poignant Royal Moment

In a touching display of strength and continuity, Kate joined King Charles, Queen Camilla, and Prince William at the glittering white-tie affair, hosted in honor of French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron.

The banquet, held in Windsor’s historic St George’s Hall, was the first state dinner at the castle in more than ten years. A 50-meter table adorned with fine decorations was prepared for 160 esteemed guests.

Kate’s presence marked more than just a return to public duties. It was a deeply symbolic moment, reflecting her steady recovery following a cancer diagnosis earlier this year.

Returning to Duties After Health Struggles

Kensington Palace confirmed earlier today that the 43-year-old Princess would attend the event — one of her most high-profile appearances since undergoing major abdominal surgery in January 2024 and revealing in March that she had been undergoing cancer treatment.

She shared in January 2025 that she was in remission after completing a course of preventative chemotherapy.
