Prince Harry and Meghan considering UK return

Part 1 of 2

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s post-royal life has been full of twists and turns, as they continue to reveal intimate details about their time as members of the Royal Family. While this has earned them some loyal supporters, it’s also resulted in plenty of criticism and backlash.

Their ongoing media presence, including tell-all interviews, a Netflix documentary, and Harry’s memoir Spare, has left many feeling uncomfortable. Some fans believe they’ve aired too much of their private lives, which has led to negative reactions. But Harry’s admissions, especially about past drug use, may have even more serious implications.

In Spare, Harry openly discusses his experimentation with drugs like cocaine, marijuana, and magic mushrooms, and how these substances helped him escape reality. This openness about his drug use could cause problems, particularly since the Duke of Sussex needed to apply for a U.S. visa when he and Meghan relocated to America. One of the questions on the visa application asks about past drug use, which could lead to the denial of a visa.

Former President Donald Trump has made it clear that if Harry lied on his visa application, there could be consequences, including deportation. But Harry’s troubles don’t end there—there’s now a push to investigate his visa application. The Heritage Foundation has sued the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for access to his immigration records. The foundation argues that if Harry answered truthfully about his drug use, he received special treatment, and if he lied, it would be grounds for action.

Despite the legal issues, Harry has maintained that he deeply regrets publicizing his drug use. Royal expert Tom Quinn believes Harry never anticipated the potential fallout of his confessions. He now feels that being a prince doesn’t provide him with the special treatment he thought it would in the U.S., and he’s come to realize that his past actions could affect his future.
