My Husband Brought His Secretary On Our Honeymoon And Thought I Would Stay Silent. Eleven Hours Later, As Soon As He Opened My Message In Hawaii, He Realized I Had Never Boarded The Plane—And The Secret I Had Kept Hidden For Three Years Destroyed Everything He Thought He Had

Part 2 of 3

Everett frowned as he continued reading.

“I’ve removed your access to our shared accounts. Your corporate spending privileges have also been suspended. Since the apartment, vehicles, and controlling interest in Sinclair Dynamics legally belong to me, I suggest you begin making alternative arrangements.”

The color drained from his face.

Harper stared at him anxiously.

“What’s happening?”

Everett swallowed.

“There must be some mistake.”

Another message appeared.

“I also informed the board of directors that company resources have been used for personal expenses over the past three years. Several people were surprisingly eager to cooperate.”

Harper’s hands began trembling.

“Everett, my credit card isn’t working.”

“What do you mean?”

“The account has been closed.”

“How?”

Harper lowered her head.

“Because you connected it to the corporate account.”

Everett closed his eyes.

For the first time in years, he realized that he had dramatically underestimated his wife.

The Cost Of Arrogance

Everett spent the next hour desperately calling attorneys, executives, and business associates.

Almost no one answered.

The few people who did respond offered only brief, uncomfortable apologies before ending the conversation.

Meanwhile, Harper paced nervously across the suite.

“You told me she wouldn’t fight back,” she said.

“She never has before.”

“You said she depended on you.”

Everett laughed bitterly.

“Apparently, I was wrong.”

Harper crossed her arms.

“What are we supposed to do now?”

Everett glanced around the magnificent room.

Just that morning, he had imagined spending two luxurious weeks there.

Now the entire suite felt like a prison.

Then someone knocked on the door.

Everett hurried forward.

“Finally,” he said. “Someone is here to straighten this out.”

Instead, he found the hotel’s general manager accompanied by two uniformed officers.

The manager offered a polite smile.

“Mr. Sinclair, we’ve received official notice regarding your financial accounts.”

Everett forced himself to remain calm.

“This is all a misunderstanding.”

The manager shook his head.

“Unfortunately, it appears otherwise. The payment authorization for this suite has been withdrawn.”

Harper gasped.

“You’re asking us to leave?”

“I’m afraid so.”

Everett stared in disbelief.

“You can’t be serious.”

One of the officers stepped forward.

“Sir, we’re simply here to ensure that everything proceeds smoothly.”

The dream vacation was over.

The Woman Behind The Empire

Back in Boston, Marlowe sat quietly in her office overlooking the harbor.

Her attorney, Victoria Mercer, spread dozens of folders across the conference table.

Every document represented another piece of the truth.

Expense reports.

Property agreements.

Bank records.

Corporate statements.

Over the years, Everett had become increasingly careless.

He had assumed no one was paying attention.

He was wrong.

Victoria adjusted her glasses.

“Are you absolutely certain you want to proceed?”

Marlowe nodded.
