Two of those are David and Victoria Beckham. When Meghan decided to move to the UK – when her and Harry’s relationship turned serious – Victoria reportedly gave Meghan all the access she needed to hairdressers and stylists in London.

However, the happy friends of four didn’t last. The news that Victoria offered to help the then-Suits star made its way to the news, and Meghan reportedly suspected that it was Victoria who had leaked it. That’s said to have led to a very uncomfortable phone call between Prince Harry and David Beckham, which was the beginning of their friendship’s decline.

“Harry was very polite, but obviously it was a pretty awkward exchange and David was mortified. Inexplicably, [Meghan] feared Victoria was behind it – I mean, the idea that Victoria Beckham would be personally ringing journalists to give them a scoop is ridiculous – and spoke to Harry about it,” a source told The Sun.

“Harry is very protective of Meghan, and decided to deal with the matter head-on, by directly contacting his good pal, David. He quickly put Harry right, and the two men agreed to move on – but it certainly made things awkward for a while.”

When Harry and Meghan married in 2018, David and Victoria Beckham attended their wedding. The famous couple, however, weren’t invited to the wedding dinner, which reportedly surprised the Beckhams.

Not long after, while Harry and Meghan were touring Australia, the Duke asked David to become an Invictus Games ambassador, and the former soccer player also traveled to Australia.

However, while there, Prince Harry reportedly refused to see David in Sydney, with claims being made that he wanted to keep his friends at arm’s length.

The reason? Meghan Markle, who still feared that Victoria had leaked stories about her to the press.

“She wanted no competition in the media from David. It seemed she was not prepared to tolerate anything flattering regarding the Beckhams and the Games to appear in the media,” royal biographer Tom Bower wrote in his book Revenge.

The Sussexes and The Beckham’s relationship deteriorated further, and when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved to the US things got even worse. With Harry lashing out at family members in both interviews and his book, Spare, the distance between he and David grew by the day-

David and Victoria Beckham have always supported the Royal Family. According to royal expert Richard Eden, that was the reason they dropped their relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

“David had always been an ardent royalist who would stand up for the Queen’s Speech every Christmas, dressed in his Sunday best. Years later, he queued for 12 hours to view the Queen’s coffin when her body was lying in state,” Eden wrote in the Daily Mail.

“So it is, perhaps, no surprise that the Sussexes’ attacks on the Royal Family failed to impress the Beckhams.”

Richard Eden added: “Both David and Victoria put great importance on family and would never, ever turn on their relations the way that Harry and Meghan did,’ one of their associates tells me. The truth is that Victoria never really liked Meghan much. She was friendly and welcoming to her but is not bothered about staying in touch.”

So what brings David and Victoria Beckham into Prince Harry’s feud with his brother? Well, William spent time with David just days ago, with the pair meeting at RAF Northolt to celebrate London Air Ambulance’s Up Against Time campaign.

Harry attended the WellChild Awards in the UK shortly before, but according to royal expert Kinsey Schofield, Meghan is annoyed by the David Beckham situation, and the fact that he spent time with Prince William.

“Yes, I do think that this is something that will annoy Meghan Markle,” Schofield said, per the Mirror.

“After two weeks of bad press since Prince Harry’s been gone. I just think that she’s probably livid right now, based on the reaction that she’s getting from all of these stories. She’s had to deal with that while Prince Harry’s been out of town.”

The royal expert added: “That’s gotta be incredibly hard for her. And then to see this kind of victory moment from Prince William. A victory moment that she would tell you it should have been Harry’s moment after the WellChild awards, that would be upsetting to her.”
