Princess Beatrice’s family recently celebrated a new addition, as a heartwarming photo captured newborn Athena nestled in a soft pink blanket.
Although she arrived several weeks ahead of schedule, Buckingham Palace confirmed that she was delivered safely.
“Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi, born on palace January 22 at 12.57pm, at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London,” the statement said.
“The baby was born weighing 4 pounds and 5 ounces.
“Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of the royal family have all been informed and are delighted with the news.”

Athena is the younger sister of Beatrice and her husband Edoardo’s first daughter, Sienna, who arrived in 2021.
The two sisters also have an older stepbrother, Christopher Woolf—affectionately called ‘Wolfie’ by his family—who is Edoardo’s son from his previous marriage to Dara Huang.
Speaking with Harper’s Bazaar (via PEOPLE), architect Dara shared how she and her ex have successfully built a positive co-parenting dynamic for Wolfie.
