Despite the rumors, the couple appeared to be going strong as they sat together at the event.
Throughout their appearance, Kelce was often seen checking his phone, which quickly caught the attention of fans. Rather than being fully engaged in the match or enjoying Swift’s company, Kelce was frequently distracted by his device. Fans speculated that he might have been watching something other than the game, especially since he held his phone in landscape mode several times.
Body language expert Darren Stanton emphasized that this behavior is a significant sign of disinterest. “It’s a subtle but clear indication that he is not fully present in the moment,” Stanton explained. “When someone is engrossed in a social or public setting, it’s unusual for them to repeatedly check their phone, especially when seated next to a significant other.”
In addition to Kelce being distracted by his phone, there was another noticeable shift in the couple’s behavior: a lack of physical affection. Earlier in their relationship, Swift and Kelce were often seen holding hands, hugging, and engaging in frequent public displays of affection (PDAs). However, at the US Open, such moments were few and far between.
Stanton pointed out that Kelce only seemed to engage when the singer was looking at him, which is a stark contrast to their earlier interactions. “Their tactile connection has diminished over time,” Stanton observed. “While Taylor remains as lively as ever, Kelce’s energy and effort in public seem to have decreased significantly. It’s almost as if he’s only trying when she’s paying attention.”

These subtle yet significant signs of connection were once prevalent but have now become rarer, according to Stanton’s observations.
