The royal family is renowned for upholding its long-standing traditions, but it appears Prince William and Kate Middleton might be ready to deviate from one in order to prioritize the well-being of their children.

Both King Charles and the late Prince Philip adhered to this tradition, as did William and Kate themselves.

However, according to a royal expert, the decision to maintain or break this tradition will likely depend on “how the children’s personalities develop.”

Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine and a royal biographer, previously shared with the Spanish publication Quien that Prince William and Kate Middleton might choose not to send Prince George or their younger children, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, to boarding school.

Unlike William and Kate, who both attended boarding schools from a young age — with William starting at Ludgrove School at just eight years old — the couple may prefer for their eldest son to stay at home while going to school.

Seward remarked, “These days, it’s common to see members of the royal family breaking tradition, so it wouldn’t be surprising if they decide to do things their own way.

“I believe William and Kate will feel that if the kids are happy at their current school, there’s no need to disrupt that.
