The new year has arrived, and it appears that Meghan Markle is ready to make her return to social media in 2025.
The former royal has been absent from Instagram for quite some time, taking a significant break.
Both she and Prince Harry decided to step away from social media in 2021, citing the overwhelming hate they received after stepping away from royal duties, according to Elle.
Meghan’s Instagram journey began in April 2019 with the account @Sussexroyal, which quickly amassed over 1 million followers in just six hours. However, the account soon became a target for online vitriol.
“I’m told that in 2019 I was the most trolled person in the entire world, male or female,” the duchess shared on the Teenager Therapy podcast in October, adding: “What was able to just be manufactured and churned out, it’s almost unsurvivable, that’s so big.
“You can’t think of what that feels like. I don’t care if you’re 15 or 25, if people are saying things about you that aren’t true, what that does to your mental and emotional health is so damaging.“
But now, Meghan is back and making a strong return.

After signing up today on New Year’s Day, Meghan shared her first post on @meghan.
It was a heartfelt and personal reel that appeared to have been filmed by Harry. The video takes place near their home in Montecito, showing the former Suits actress running along a beach in white jeans and a white shirt.
In the video, she marks ‘2025’ into the sand with her finger before running along the beach again—could this be a New Year’s resolution?
