Daughter of the late actress Kelly Preston and the iconic actor John Travolta, Ella Bleu Travolta has been making waves in the wellness industry as well as in Hollywood, especially for her dedication to a vegan lifestyle.

Her choice was based on much more than just her health.

Ella’s birth was a really unique event; it wasn’t like any other. Kelly Preston, her mother, described the moment she saw her daughter for the first time, which will never be forgotten.

Only a few months after giving birth, Kelly told Redbook, “John put his hands under her arms while she was still halfway out, and I put my hand on his, and we pulled her out together and laid her on my chest.”

She is an older sister.

Ella takes pride in being a big sister. She was the second child born to John Travolta and Kelly Preston after their son Jett was born in April 1992. Jett tragically died at the age of 16 after having a seizure at the family’s holiday house and striking his head on a bathtub.

On November 23, 2011, two years after Jett’s tragic passing, Ella’s brother Benjamin was born, making her a sister once more.

Her mother, Kelly, said that Ella was ecstatic upon hearing the news. For the first time, the actress revealed Ella’s response to becoming a big sister:

Ella was so excited about Benjamin’s coming that you would have assumed she was having him herself. She was, to put it mildly, overjoyed. She fell in love the moment she laid eyes on him,” Kelly recalled.

Following in the footsteps of her parents

Ella and her younger brother have a strong relationship today, and she often celebrates Benjamin’s birthday on social media with loving remarks.

Even as a child, Ella Bleu had a deep affection for the stage. Ella and her friends performed in the small stage area that was put up with a red curtain in the family home in Maine. They performed anything from various Christmas plays to The Incredible Hulk. They even gave separate performances as several “Housewives of Maine” one year.

“I’ve loved performing, singing, dancing, and hosting shows for my family and friends at home since I was very young,” Ella Bleu told People.

She debuted in a movie called Old Dogs at the age of nine, costarring with her parents and the late, great comedian and actor Robin Williams.

Ella Bleu told Celebrity Pulse, “Acting with my parents in my first movie was awesome; it made it much easier.”

She would continue to collaborate with her father, John Travolta, after her role in Old Dogs. She starred in the play The Poison Rose ten years later. Ella’s path to becoming a vegan

Ella made the decision to follow a vegan diet for two weeks after being inspired by one of her best friends. She kept doing it since the outcomes were so encouraging. She became more knowledgeable about the advantages of a plant-based lifestyle for the environment during this time by watching a number of documentaries. Her realization that her decisions were directly affecting the health of the planet opened her eyes.

”It has really been a game-changer in how I feel — overall I have more energy, and I feel great,” she told Greenmatters.com.

Ella researched the potential health benefits of switching to a plant-based diet in great detail. The environmental consequence, however, was what really caught our attention. She discovered by watching documentaries that cutting back on animal products can actually benefit the environment by lowering our carbon footprint, conserving water, and improving air quality.

A simple yet filling breakfast, such as bread with crunchy peanut butter, agave sauce, and a dash of pumpkin spice flavor, is frequently Ella’s favorite. It’s a simple, high-protein choice that gives her a great blend of sweetness and spice and keeps her going all morning.

John Travolta: is he vegan?

Ella has adopted a plant-based diet, but it appears that her father, John, hasn’t followed suit—yet.

“For me, I never try to force or convince someone to go plant-based. I believe (as for any lifestyle choice) it should always be your decision. But I’m definitely always sharing with others the benefits I’ve experienced while being plant-based and also encourage friends and family to try the food, so they can see for themselves — oftentimes they like the vegan versions just as much or more than the regular versions,” Ella says.

Ella enjoys baking a lot.

Ella enjoys spending her free time in the kitchen trying out new recipes. She even started her own food-themed Instagram account, ellableubakes, in July 2023.
