Liam Payne, who passed away on October 16 at the age of 31, reportedly had a history of using balconies as escape routes when feeling trapped. Sources claim this behavior dates back to his One Direction days when he allegedly “hated” being locked in rooms.

In a chilling precursor to his fatal jump, Payne had escaped a similar situation just a month earlier. During a suspected “drug binge,” his bodyguard locked him in a Florida rental home, prompting him to rappel safely to the ground using a garden hose. Tragically, it appears he attempted a similar escape in Buenos Aires, hoping for another safe landing.

Forced Into His Hotel Room

Surveillance footage and witness accounts obtained by TMZ reveal that Payne had been acting “erratically” in the Casa Sur Palermo Hotel lobby shortly before his death. Hotel staff, struggling to restrain him, were seen carrying the singer to his room. Although he resisted and appeared conscious while being escorted, staff ultimately used a master key to lock him inside.

According to the police report, a mirror near his room was even removed to prevent damage.
