My boss ghosted me for a month and fired me

I’ve been working as a prep cook at event hall since January, but I’m using the word “working” loosely. The chef barely scheduled me during the slow season, and now that things are picking up, I’m still only getting one shift a week.

I’ve told the chef I want to work more, but he doesn’t seem to care. I’ve had to text and call him repeatedly to find out when my next shift is, and he usually doesn’t tell me until a few days before. It’s really frustrating.

I haven’t heard from him in a month at this point. So, I reached out the other day to ask for an update about what’s going on. Then I receive this b.u.l.l.s.h.i.t!

He’s trying to blame me for not being available for shifts, but that’s not true. I’ve only called off twice, and I have a paper trail to prove it. He’s just making excuses to get out of paying me.

I’m so angry and frustrated. I feel like I’m being taken advantage of. I’m going to send him a final text asking him to confirm my firing and to address the stuff he’s incorrect about. Then, I’m going to send an email to one of the managers to report his unprofessionalism.

I’m not going to let him get away with this. I deserve to be treated fairly.
